What is a PixOils painting?

A PixOils™ painting is a hybrid art technique combining BOTH digital and traditional oil painting. Each fine art original starts from YOUR supplied cellphone photo. The original photo is digitally retouched, color enhanced, and rendered using pixel editing software and digital oil painting techniques. Next the digital art is transferred to a museum quality, fine art giclee (gee-clay) print on stretched canvas.

The final phase is done in the art studio where traditional hand brushed oil paints are applied to complete the artwork. The PixOils painting is signed and coated with an archival, satin finished oil varnish to ensure heirloom image fidelity for generations.
